Surplus Permits Available for Minnesota 2021 Camp Ripley Archery Hunts

Minnesota hunters who missed the lottery deadline for the Camp Ripley archery hunt can purchase surplus permits on a first-come, first-served basis beginning noon on Friday, Sept. 10. New Jersey Sets 2021-2022 Waterfowl Hunting Seasons

The NJDEP Division of Fish and Wildlife has finalized the 2021-22 migratory bird hunting seasons. Below are notable highlights: •The bag limit during the Regular Canada goose season in the North and South Zones was reduced to 1 bird. Wyoming Requiring Mandatory CWD Samples From Two Deer Hunt Areas

The Wyoming Game and Fish Department is trying something new this year in their ongoing effort to monitor chronic wasting disease in Wyoming. CWD is a fatal disease of the central nervous system in mule deer, white-tailed deer, elk and moose. For the first time, Game and Fish is requiring mandatory CWD sample submission on deer harvested from Deer Hunt Areas 96 and 97. These areas are home to the Sweetwater Herd Unit in the Lander Region. The Florida 2021 recreational harvest season for snook starts Sept. 1 statewide with the exception of state waters from Pinellas/Hillsborough counties (including Tampa Bay) south to Gordon Pass in Collier County. Maryland State Record Blue Marlin Caught at Ocean City   A Florida angler is the new Maryland state record holder for a blue marlin, which he caught in an August 20 tournament at Ocean City. ODFW, OSP Remind Anglers to Immediately Tag Halibut or Salmon

ODFW and Oregon State Police have seen an increase in improperly tagged fish during the 2021 halibut and salmon seasons resulting in many citations to licensed anglers. Anyone fishing who had not properly tagged (or not tagged at all) their catch of salmon or halibut received citations during recent offshore boat patrols by OSP’s Marine Team.
