Vermont 2021 Archery Deer Hunting Season Opens Oct 1st

The Vermont Fish and Wildlife Department says hunters are looking forward to Vermont’s upcoming October 1- November 12 and November 29 to December 15 archery deer hunting season. West Virginia Waterfowl Regulations set for the 2021-22 Season

The waterfowl regulations are set for the West Virginia 2021-22 season. The seasons are set within the guidelines established annually by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. There are two notable changes for this year. First, the definition of ‘bait’ now includes any non-edible facsimile of an edible enticement, like plastic ear corn. Second, a permit is no longer required to hunt at the Green Bottom Wildlife Management Area, although hunting hour restrictions remain in place for the first three days of the October segment. New York Proposes Daily Limit Increase for Walleye on Oneida Lake

The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) released proposed regulations to increase the daily possession limit of walleye in Oneida Lake from three fish per day to the statewide daily possession limit of five fish per day. South Dakota Confirms CWD found in New Western Area

Chronic wasting disease (CWD) was recently confirmed in a new area in western South Dakota. Confirmation of the disease was obtained from sick surveillance efforts coming from an adult male mule deer in Perkins County. Perkins County is now considered in the CWD endemic area. The Vermont Fish and Wildlife Department says bear hunting season starts in September and reminds hunters about the bear hunting regulations. Vermont has two bear hunting seasons.  The early season, which requires a special bear tag, starts September 1, and continues through November 12 with one exception.  Nonresident hunters using dogs cannot start bear hunting until September 15.  The late bear season begins November 13 and continues through November 21.  A hunter may only take one bear during the year. Idaho Confirms 300 White-Tailed Deer Died from Disease in the Kamiah Area

Idaho Fish and Game is continuing to receive reports of dead deer in the Kamiah area. Approximately 250-300 whitetails have died near the Kamiah area. Idaho Fish and Game wildlife staff has confirmed that the disease is a type of hemorrhagic disease (HD).
