Ohio Fishing Just Got Easier with the Fishing Tips by Species Guide
by TBC Press on 07/12/19There are fish to be caught all year round in Ohio if you know where to go, how to fish, and what to pursue. The steelhead run in February or March is unbeatable, but good luck catching one in the heat of summer. Come May, the muskie fishing is as good as it gets if you cast across spawning coves. You can catch a sunfish all year round with ease, but during summer you’ll find the catfish more appealing. As the leaves start to turn... READ MORE

Wisconsin Spring Waterfowl Survey Results Show Good Production
by TBC Press on 07/11/19Wisconsin's 2019 spring waterfowl population surveys indicate stable to increased numbers of the main species of breeding waterfowl as well as excellent wetland conditions, which should result in increased waterfowl production this year across most of the state. How to Spot-and-Stalk Your Way to an Archery Antelope
by TBC Press on 07/11/19When archers discovered the shovel, pronghorn hunting got easier. About 40 years ago, bowhunters began setting up for antelope from covered pit blinds near water holes. They found that these keen-eyed prairie dwellers could not clearly see from bright sunlight into a shaded blind, and the result was point-blank shots at relaxed animals. Today, most bowhunters use pop-up blinds for antelope. Bowhunting antelope on foot is never easy, but if you love the challenge you can do it regardless of water or weather conditions... READ MORE

No Wisconsin Sharp-Tailed Grouse Permits Issued for fall 2019
by TBC Press on 07/11/19In light of new scientific data and concerns over future viability of the sharp-tailed grouse population in Wisconsin, the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources will not issue hunting permits for the fall 2019 hunting season. This decision comes as a result of a review of the spring 2019 survey data as well as from a new scientific population model which shows low probabilities of sharp-tailed grouse persistence over the next 50 years. Although no permits will be issued this year, by state law, sharp-tailed grouse will... READ MORE
