Ohio Update and Changes to 2020 Controlled Turkey Hunting Drawings

Due to the COVID-19 virus, the Ohio DNR has made some changes to the 2020 controlled turkey hunting drawings. 

Changes to the Lake La Su An Youth Turkey Drawing
The in-person drawing for youth turkey hunting at Lake La Su An Wildlife Area will be changed to a mail-in drawing this year. The in-person drawing scheduled for Saturday, March 21 was cancelled.

Those interested in entering the drawing should send a notecard in an envelope with the youth’s name, address, phone number, and customer ID to Lake La Su An Wildlife Area, Attn: Youth Turkey Drawing, 9455 County Road R, Pioneer, Ohio 43554.

The Ohio Division of Wildlife will draw names and randomly assign season dates and section combinations. Successful applicants will be contacted with additional information after the drawing is completed. Envelopes had to be postmarked by Wednesday, March 25 or delivered to the Lake LaSuAn office by 3:30 pm on that date to be eligible. All youth must have a valid Ohio hunting license to register.

Changes to the Killbuck Marsh & Mosquito Creek Wildlife Area Refuge Youth Turkey Drawings
The in-person drawings for youth turkey hunting at Killbuck Marsh & Mosquito Creek Wildlife Area refuges have been changed to a mail-in drawing this year. The in-person drawings have been cancelled.

Those interested in entering the drawings should send in an application form to the address found on this form: Killbuck Marsh & Mosquito Creek Wildlife Area Refuge Youth Turkey Hunting Information & Application.

The Ohio Division of Wildlife will draw names and randomly assign season dates and section combinations. Successfully drawn applicants will be mailed permits and associated rules after the drawing is completed. Applications must be postmarked no later than Monday, April 6, 2020. All youth must have a valid Ohio hunting license to register.

Changes to the Controlled Wild Turkey Hunting Drawings at Eagle Creek Wildlife Area
The in-person drawing for controlled wild turkey hunting drawings at Eagle Creek Wildlife Area will be changed to a mail-in drawing this year. The in-person drawing scheduled for Saturday, March 28 has been cancelled.

Hunts are available for the youth turkey season on April 18-19, as well as one-week hunting sessions from April 20-26; April 27 to May 3; May 4-10; and May 11-17.

Those interested in entering the drawings should send in an application form to the address found on this form: ECWA Drawing Registration Form. Mail the form to Indian Creek Wildlife Area headquarters, 4258 Snowhill Rd., Fayetteville, OH 45118. The form can also be emailed to the Indian Creek Wildlife Area manager Randy Morgan at Randall.Morgan@dnr.state.oh.us
